They put up a fierce fight, too, though in order to truly defeat Shredder, the heroes in a half shell will need the help of courageous reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her quick witted cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) as well. Why this movie is a MUST SEE:

  • It explains HOW these turtles came to be, how they ended up in the sewer, and how they learned their fighting skills. I was SO GLAD this was mentioned because if it wasn’t, I would have been extremely upset.
  • The turtles father is a ninja rat…seriously? I know that’s a tad bit gross, but you can’t tell me that isn’t awesome.
  • There’s tension between two of the brothers, Leonardo and Raphael, on who should lead them. I really like this because it gave the turtles human characteristics, where sometimes we do fight with our siblings and how we have to learn to work together. The way they solved this in the end had me laughing, in a good way.
  • This film showed us that not only men, but gigantic fighting ninja turtles act stupid around pretty women as well. Ha!
  • There were a few POINT OF VIEW shots in the turtles’ perspective during their fighting scenes and it was epic! So glad they did this!
  • The elevator scene. PRICELESS! This scene was probably my favorite from the entire movie.
  • The turtles themselves were awesome! They looked as if they could possibly exist on Earth. I don’t know but when I stopped by my parents house after the film, I went straight to my turtle (who is about the size of my hand now) and just stared at it wondering if it was hiding something from me. I wouldn’t mind a TMNT guarding me. I’m just saying.
  • Shredder’s costume. I would love to see someone cosplay his attire.
  • I would have to say my favorite character was Donatello because not only was he a badass but he was also extremely intellectual and dorky.
  • The movie was extremely funny as well!
  • To be honest, I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like about the film. Which is a good thing!
  • A great family film!
  • Lots of great lessons to be learned in this film!

Leonardo:

“The consummate older brother, Leonardo is a master swordsman and finely tuned fighting machine. Driven by duty, honor, and responsibility, Leo demands perfection in himself and those around him, though his cautious nature often clashes with those of his brothers. As their chosen team leader, Leonardo bears the heavy burden of responsibility for his often wild and unpredictable brothers.”

“Leo’s weapons are twin katana swords, weapons highly steeped in the noble traditions of ancient Japan. They are the products of meticulous smithing techniques, and represent a perfect blending of tradition, honor, and artistry, just like Leo himself.”

Raphael

“Big turtle, big temper, Raphael is a bruiser with an attitude. He wears red for a reason. A ferocious fighter, Raphael is driven headfirst by his emotions, but often struggles to keep those emotions in check. Not one for taking orders, his independent nature doesn’t mix well with that of team leader, Leonardo.”

“Raphael uses a pair of sais, close combat weapons perfectly suited for Raphael’s in-your-face personality. Used in a variety of styles for blocking, parrying, striking, and stabbing, sai are designed to help disarm an opponent, and make them pay. “

Michelangelo

“The youngest of the turtles and self-appointed class clown, Michelangelo is a laid-back free spirit who can find humor in any situation, often to the annoyance of his older brothers. Never shy to express his true feelings, the main focusses of Mikey’s life are pizza, pizza, and April O’Neil. A bit of a goofball at times, Mikey prefers skateboarding to strenuous ninja training, but will never pass up an opportunity to kick butt, and look good doing it.”

“Michelangelo’s weapons are the nunchuks, two sticks connected at one end by a short chain. Relying on quick reflexes and hand speed to use effectively, nunchuks are truly flashy, show-stopping weapons.”

Donatello (My favorite turtle!)

“The brains of the group, Donatello is a mechanical genius, whose latest hi-tech inventions and gear help support his brothers in their fight against The Foot. Donnie’s high IQ is matched only by his stature, a whopping 6’8”, making him an intimidating turtle to face in battle. Usually found working in his lab, Donatello’s calm and measured personality morethan qualifies him to arbitrate disputes between his often quarrelsome brothers.”

“Donatello uses the bo staff, a simple weapon by all appearances, but the easily the most versatile. More of a tool than a true weapon, the staff can be used for both offensive and defensive maneuvers, as well as a thousand other uses. Donatello’s ingenious mind is a perfect match for the weapon with a thousand applications.”

My Rating: 5/5! I would definitely watch this film again and again!
